The Hutchinson River Restoration Project is seeking to hire an Outreach Director
The Hutchinson River Restoration Project is dedicated to restoring and enhancing the health of the Hutchinson River for current and future generations. We strive to reduce pollution, improve the river's water quality, promote access for all, and protect its wildlife and habitats. This is a 3⁄4 to full-time position. Working at times remotely and other times in the field (at times on weekends and evenings.) Hours may be variable depending on the season. Hourly rate of $35 an hour to be capped at $70,000 a year.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree with preferably a major in environmental science (and perhaps master’s degree as well).
Strong management, writing and verbal skills
Preferred at least 3 years’ experience in restoration or community outreach?
Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite (including excel).
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The Outreach Director will help to recruit, organize, and manage a collaborative network of local community groups that will support the restoration and the stewardship of the Hutchinson River.
He/She/They will support events, campaigns and materials that reach the citizens through communication channels that promote education and encourage stewardship of the river’s natural resources.
He/She/They will initiate and follow up on interactions among the members of township groups and other involved individuals or groups including local politicians and neighborhood/community organizations.
He/She/They will schedule meetings, provide a clearing house for all data, organize groups, zoom get togethers, and educational activities.
He/She/They will maintain effective communication with team members and management.
He/She/They will identify and address challenges proactively.
He/She/They will carry out assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
