FCWC Hosts Federation Meeting

Summary

Federated Conservationists of Westchester County hosted our annual Federation Meeting on Friday, May 9th, 2025. The Federation Meeting is an opportunity for all of FCWC's member organizations to gather, network, and discuss the environmental issues currently affecting Westchester County. This year, FCWC invited elected officials from Westchester County Legislators Parks and Environmental Committee to present to our member organizations.

This year, member organizations discussed environmental land use, including the proposed Faith-Based Affordable Housing Act. FBAHA would allow religious institutions to bypass some environmental regulations, threatening environmental spaces and preventing environmental impact reviews.

After the presentation on environmental land use, FCWC member organizations had the opportunity to share updates on environmental projects they were currently working on. Organizations were able to network and learn from other member organizations. It was excellent to see everyone collaborating together and collectively realize our power to be a force for environmental change!
