Federated
Conservationists of Westchester County Inc. was founded in
1965 as a not-for-profit coalition
of dozens of local environmental groups to form a strong, single voice
for
combating pollution and preserving Westchester's many precious natural
resources. FCWC has promoted environmentally sound planning and
decision making throughout the region and educated the public and government officials
on the need to protect natural resources. As the premier environmental
watchdog in Westchester, the organization has influenced local, county
and state governments in the defense of air,
water and land.
FCWC's role as an advocate is implemented through its articles, comment letters, testimony at public hearings, speeches at public forums, and its e-mail service.
FCWC's role as an educator
is implemented through its newspaper, conferences, weekly e-mail service,
environmental directory, and high school student environmental council.
FCWC recognizes that our environment can ultimately only be saved if we all work together to take an active role in protecting our natural resources. We invite you to take action in your own lives and help us protect the environment by joining FCWC.
