Preparing the next generation of environmental leaders through education,
training, and research. Primarily involved in conservation biology. Education
carried out by Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Environmental Biology
(E3B), which offers degree programs (Undergraduate and graduate through
Ph.D.). Training is carried out by the Morningside Institute and includes
an evening certificate program in conservation biology for adults; a summer
training program for K-12 educators centered on Biodiversity in the Hudson
Valley; the Environmental Leaders Forum; a summer field experience for
undergraduates in Brazil; and a summer program in conservation biology
for HS students. Research focuses on multi-institutional initiatives that
involve the five members of the CERC consortium: Columbia University,
the American Museum of Natural History, the NY Botanical Garden, the Wildlife
Conservation Society, and the Wildlife Trust.

wildlife conservation facilities including the Bronx Zoo, Central Park
Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and New York Aquarium. These
